The House is obligated to Impeach

Today, the United States Military proved again its preeminence by unleashing tremendous destructive force on the enemies of freedom. However, on the world stage, people question whether our President, with an admitted lack of character, used this incident to draw attention away from his character.

No amount of facts, no amount of sound reasoning will ever remove the doubt that this president made military decisions for personal reasons. A man of character would have put the credibility of his nation ahead of his desire to remain as president.

It is now time for the US House to take up their obligation to the citizens of this nation and start the impeachment process.

During the Nixon era, Hillary Clinton was one of the many who argued from history that "high crimes and misdemeanors" did not just mean the violation of a written law, but the simple loss of credibility. Our nation’s leader, and therefore our nation, has lost credibility. The impeachment process by the House, and the trial by the Senate, does not convict the president of a crime. It would simply remove him from office as unfit.

A president, who admits to lying about something claimed to be minor, will no longer be trusted on the world stage as an honest representation of our nation. Our nation will not be perceived as honest. Twenty-three members of the House have signed on to the impeachment inquiry. The remaining members, both Republican and Democrat, do our nation a disservice by failing to act.
